Demography
There is a Jewish population of approximately 600 in Grenada, consisting of 25 families from mainly Canada and the UK, businessmen, and 500 students at St. George's University.
Jewish students make up 10% of the university population.
Jewish life is run through Chabad.
History
Chabad has been in Grenada since 2014. There is no previous Jewish history.
Community Life
Jewish life is run through the Chabad House in St. George, which operates as a Jewish community centre and synagogue.
There are Friday night and Shabbat morning services.
There is no mikveh - the ocean is a perfect alternative!
Kashrut
Chabad run a kosher food shop and takeawy service. Many products imported to the island are kosher.
A shochet visits twice a year to slaughter and prepare chickens to be stored in enormous freezers.
Education
Chabad run an online Jewish education programme for children.
