Demography

There are approximately 600 Jewish residents in the Cayman Islands, a mix of retirees, professionals and young families. There is a large Chabad presence which works very closely with the community. There is also a number of non-practicing Jews - Jewish by birth, but now identify as Protestants.

History

The Jewish community was first established in the 1970s when local Jews began to gather together to pray and share their heritage.

By the mid-2000s, the community was large enough to warrant organised services and education.
