The CJC has supported local communities in building links with local institutions to raise their profile and enhance local relationships. CJC has deployed funds to the Mumbai community in Indiahosted an event to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Taj terrorist atrocity with anInterfaith dialogue including a children’s art competition ‘Symbols of Peace’; and in Jamaica a tree-planting ceremony was organised on the Campus of the University of West Indies to mark thecoincidence of Tu b’Shevat (New Year for Trees) and Holocaust Memorial Day.
The CJC has extended the quality Holocaust education beyond the Jewish community. Forexample young people from both Singapore and Mumbai were enabled to take part in March ofthe Living and provided programmes of Holocaust education to local non-Jewish schools on theirreturn.
